The war on terror continues and still no one counts the costs

This article observes how the very phrase “war on terror” has obscured the very reality of the situation: that the rising influence of terrorist groups has left the world in an even more precarious state than before. While countries are no closer to finding a solution than ten years ago, the civilian death toll has been played down in order to hide the failures of counter-terrorist efforts. As it becomes more of background noise than actual progress, the escalation of even more terrorist activities in recent times demands more immediate action beyond the examination of aftermaths and imaginary roots of terror.
